Photoshooting Red Bull Air Race - Rovinj / Croatia
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2015 brings us in Rovinj, Croatia where some amazing images from this this event were made to catch viewers attention. Variety of photographic techniques with different lenses and huge photographic opportunities led to capturing the most interesting moments of the race in Rovinj.
The fastest motorsport in the world is a combination of precision, speed and skill, in which, pilots, withincredible maneuvers, in fast planes, are passing between the 25 meter high aerial pylons. Nine years since it was officially launched, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship has become globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motorsport series on the planet. Devised by the Red Bull sports think-tank, the initial goal was to create the most advanced aerial challenge the world had ever seen; what they got far exceeded their original expectations.
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship quickly became a visual spectacle unlike any other. A combination of high speed, low altitude and extreme manoeuvrability makes the sport accessible only to the world's most exceptional pilots. The specially designed aerial racetracks used are the result of extensive research and evaluation. The unique inflatable pylons, which form the Air Gates, were first developed in 2002 and have evolved year-on-year into the sophisticated design currently used. They are constructed to be robust and safe in the event of a pylon hit and can be repaired and re-inflated within minutes.
Supersonic Man flies at Red Bull Air Race
Taking in all the racing action was Felix Baumgartner, who captured the world's attention in 2012 when he became the first person to accelerate through the sound barrier in freefall, reaching a top speed of 1,357.6 km/h (Mach 1.25) after jumping from a balloon 38.9 kilometers above the earth.
Throughout race weekend in Rovinj, Baumgartner took exhibition wingsuit flyers to jump altitude and enable photographers to get shots of the raceplanes in the heat of the action.
I am so honored to have Supersonic Man Felix Baumgartner as my helicopter pilot at the Red Bull Air Race in Rovinj. We worked together at the Red Bull Stratos Mission in 2012 when I was in front of him waiting for his landing after his historic jump. In that time he became the first human to accelerate through the sound barrier in freefall. Now he is in the skies again but I am behind him in the same helicopter with my camera. Thanksss Felix for all your effort during our flight...I told you that flying with photographer in the helicopter is something different!
