Racing in the Emirates - Red Bull Air Race Abu Dhabi / UAE
Beginning of the Red Bull Air Race season is always the most challenging task, looking from the photography point of view. Taking portrait shots of the pilots and their teams as well as the airplanes is just a part of everything that our photo team is working in order to create media kits and other presentation materials for each and every pilot.
Special segment regarding photography is photoshooting for major sponsors and their teams. Very common event is photoshoot that we call Recon Flight which is basically special race announcement through all media services.
Recon Flight is usually performed at some spectacular locations and for this occasion we have chosen the recently open Louvre museum. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an art and civilization museum established on November 8th 2017 as a part of a thirty-year agreement between the city of Abu Dhabi and the French government.
The museum is located on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District and it the largest art museum in the Arabian peninsula. After all this we come to the point of photoshooting the race itself, airplane flights and final race of the opening season.
When the official ceremony is finished we capture the action on the race track but that doesn't mean that lifestyle, preparation and training session photographs are no longer taken. On the contrary, they become as important as the race itself.
Looking from photographer point of view it is very important to create the complete story with all the details that will record the event on the pages of history in unique and special way. We dedicate special attention to happenings inside every team group and their emotions. Joy and tears stay forever on our photographs as a reminder of everything regarding the sports race.
This year Abu Dhabi played host to the Red Bull Air Race for the 11th time! Michael Goulian collected his second career win in the Abu Dhabi track after a nine year wait.
Goulian is known as one of the hardest working pilots in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, but has always struggled to find what was needed to make it all come together. It's no secret that in this motorsport consistency is what wins races and World Championships.
