I am happy to return to Mostar and my favorite location for photoshooting the Red Bull Cliff Diving event – The Old Bridge. Built in the 16th century, the iconic old bridge has a diving tradition that stretches back almost 450 years. The Old Bridge stood for 427 years, until it was destroyed on 9 November 1993 by Croat military forces during the Croat–Bosniak War. Subsequently, a project was set in motion to reconstruct it; the rebuilt bridge opened on 23 July 2004.

Mostar is located roughly halfway between the airports of Sarajevo and Dubrovnik, is known worldwide for its Old Bridge, built in 1566 and included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The bridge, often cited as one of the most beautiful in the world, is known in the Balkans for its diving competition, which has represented one of the top attractions of the former Yugoslavia, every July since 1968.

Despite the small location and usual photoshooting from the water level, this time I also made another approach and capture some amazing photographs using a drone. This historic location and picturesque bridge are so much inspiring that it gives the photographers endless possibilities to explore many different techniques.
