If someone asked me whether there’s a better place for a marathon, I might say yes. However, it’s hard to imagine a more picturesque setting than the stunning Boka Bay in Kotor, Montenegro.

The third edition of the Bokeški Marathon, also known as the Boka Marathon, took place in mid-December and brought together around 3,500 runners.

The event offered several race options, including a full marathon, half marathon, relay marathon, and a fun run. The route led runners on a breathtaking journey along the shores of Boka Bay.

The stunning views of emerald waters, dramatic mountain backdrops, and charming coastal towns like Tivat and Kotor created a truly unforgettable running experience.

Taking photos in such a spectacular environment was a pleasure, and these images undoubtedly tell a unique story about this exceptional event further enhancing its growing reputation.

By 2026, the Bokeški Marathon is set to become a qualifying event for the World Championships and part of the prestigious Wanda Age Abbott Marathon Majors.
