The final event of the 2015 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE and it marks the first time for the UAE to host the season finale. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs world’s top FMX athletes had battled out for fame and glory. It was an amazing event for the year ending and it was a pleasure for me to be there and make some great photographs.
After being held for three consecutive years in Dubai, the gravity defying event Red Bull X-fighters came to the capital’s Corniche for a thrilling finale to the 2015 world tour. Over the course of 10 days, 7,000 cubic metres of dirt was sculpted into a track featuring nine jumps, that send the riders as high as 15 metres in the air and 30 metres in length.
Ahmed Al Shehhi, the director of the Abu Dhabi leg of the series, thanked Abu Dhabi government’s efforts to host international sports events, adding that Sheikh Mansour’s support and sponsorship reflected the importance of the event. Sheikh Mansour is a well-known global leader in the world of sports. His ideas played a pivotal role in shaping the new policy of Manchester City Football Club. Sheikh Mansour is also an enthusiastic and passionate supporter of local sports.
Australia’s Clinton Moore was crowned the winner of the 2015 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Abu Dhabi after winning the finale, capping a sensational season with three wins to finish just ahead of Thomas Pagès in its 15th season.
