The spirit of Formula 1 will come to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the Red Bull Showrun is scheduled to happen sometime this summer. The exact date is still being held secret. Before the roar of engines and the screech of tires hit Bosnian streets, we did a pre-shoot at some of the most spectacular and iconic locations in three cities.
The Red Bull Show Run is no ordinary race event. It’s a spectacle that brings the spirit of Formula 1 to unexpected places, often transforming city streets into racing circuits. Thousands of eager spectators gather to witness the magic, where legends like David Coulthard take the wheel of the same F1 cars in which Red Bull Racing Team riders dominated the F1 Grand Prix in previous years.
While the exact date of the Red Bull Show Run in Bosnia remains unknown, Sarajevo, Mostar, and Banja Luka citizens were treated to a sneak peek. They were curious and excited to see Max Verstappen’s championship-winning F1 car making its mark on the streets. Our pre-shoot took us through three distinct cities, each offering its own charm and beauty.
In Sarajevo, the iconic city hall, Vijećnica, was a stunning backdrop for the F1 car. The colorful car also grabbed attention in front of the Sebilj fountain in Baščaršija, Sarajevo’s historical and cultural heart. Of course, we couldn’t resist taking the F1 car on the famous bobsled track on Trebević, a symbol of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games that were held in Sarajevo.
After Sarajevo, we moved to Mostar, which was quite specific and challenging due to its narrow streets. We found one unique location in the city center, a cobblestone street that still captures the spirit of old Mostar. Likewise, we couldn’t skip the famous Old Mostar Bridge, which spans over the Neretva River. The Old Bridge is a place where divers gather and jump from the bridge into the river each summer, and it is a tradition that lasts for decades. As of 2015, the Old Bridge is also a tour stop in the Red Bull Cliff Diving series.
Our pre-shoot journey concluded in Banja Luka, where the medieval Kastel fortress provided a dramatic setting for the F1 car. The photos will be used in a campaign for the upcoming event. See you at the Red Bull Show Run in Bosnia this summer.
