The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR), the world’s largest motorcycling charity event, took place on May 18 in over 1,000 cities across 110 countries worldwide. Since 2015, my hometown of Belgrade has proudly joined the list of participating cities, and of course, I was there once again to capture the atmosphere. On that day, 120,000 riders around the globe took to the streets on their bikes for a noble cause. With 550 riders in Belgrade, coming from all over Serbia and the region, this was by far the city’s biggest DGR gathering yet. Hundreds of riders, dressed in their finest suits, tweeds, and ties, paraded through the streets on classic, vintage-style, and custom motorcycles. It’s quite a sight, something you definitely don’t see every day.
The event was seamlessly organized and filled with great energy, thanks to MotoPlatz, the host of this year’s ride. This custom workshop, café, and retail space has become a hub where motorcycling stories begin. Over the years, their workshop has brought to life many uniquely customized bikes, making it a beloved and distinguished spot in the local motorcycle community.
